Will not be seeing it. At all. Tried reading the books and I couldn't get past the first three chapters: Bella has to be the most whiny protagonist imaginable. Thanks for perpetuating the "vampire fiction = emo" trend, Stephanie Meyers. Also, a few opinions I've formed based on what I've heard:

--Vampires do *NOT* sparkle. What part of "children of the night" goes well with having skin that sparkles?! If there's any fantasy creature that sparkles, it's probably either elves or mermaids.

--Also, I can't help seeing Bella as being analogous to those sort of girls who stay with meth users or abusive guys "because I love him". I'm not throwing stones, because I used to be that girl myself, till I learned I needed to love myself enough realized I needed to be with a guy who really loved me and wasn't using me emotionally.

What it means to me is a moronic view of "love." It's been my experience that "unconditional" and "irrevocable" love is the product of many years rather than something one instantly feels. Of course, bearing in mind that this is a book intended for young readers. *sigh* I'm feeling old and curmudgeonly.

Agreed on it taking many years to love someone unconditionally. And no, I wouldn't say your attitude is curmudgeonly, I'd say it's a mature and realistic view on love and relationships.
