Wierd Wacky Webfinds: "The Mechanical Man"

Okay, I needed a pick-me-up and I found one, via UbuWeb's 365 Days project, featuring MP3s of oddball, weird or just plain strange albums. This one is a hoot from the 1950s, a real so-bad-it's-good novelty song performed by a studio group called Bent Bolt and the Nuts, featuring a lead singer doing a pretty good impersonation of a vocoder. The lyrics are so weird they're inspired:
"I'm de-signed in the U. S. A.
And man-u-fac-tured in Ja-pan.
Does an-y-bod-y here
Know a ro-bot girl
Who wants to meet
A mech-an-i-cal man?"
