Deja vu...
Jul. 31st, 2009 02:41 pmThe day I saw "The Matrix: Revolutions", it poured rain... heavy, splonky rain that was mirrored by the torrential downpour during the climatic Smith vs. Neo fight in the movie. Rain so hard that when I watched the behind the scenes documentary on the DVD, I had a twinge of empathy when Hugo Weaving jokingly talked about just how hard it is to enunciate your lines when a rain machine is dumping a hundred gallons of water on you and your mouth fills up with water every time you open it.
Now, six years later, the successor to the trilogy (though many people argue like Bible scholars on steroids over whether it's canon or not; I consider MxO to be "canon but a different continuity") is coming to an end, and again, it is raining like mad. It's so surreal...
I have no regrets. I am a little sad, but I am happy for the fun I had messing around in this universe. I'll probably start crying my eyes out at 3:03 this morning, after the servers go offline and the realization that I won't have it to rely on sets in, but for now, I am tranquil and content.
Fenshire, one of my good buddies and best friendly enemies, summed it up best when he posted this to the official forums:
"Don't cry because it's over. Smile because it happened."
