To whit, a long conversation between Fuyutsuki and Kashday, one of the Grigori leaders, about Kashday's unwilling involvement in some experiments on Nazi concentration camp inmates (though it does give a lot of background on the Anakim, the Grigori core-enhanced humans who figure in this section), and on a much lighter note, this hysterical scene involving my three male leads at a sushi bar:



(Minor bit of set-up: Fuyutsuki is sitting bookended by Enniel and Asato [who defines 'Big Eater'].)

Fuyutsuki realized that Enniel had a curious eye on his plate; he looked down and found someone had all but cleaned it for him.

“Who ate my dim sum?!” he demanded, already guessing the identity of the guilty party.

“For all your wisdom and intelligence, Professor Fuyutsuki, there is something that you seem to need to learn,” Enniel drawled.

“Never get too deep in a dinner conversation if Asato is sitting within arms reach of my plate,” Fuyutsuki said, not looking at Asato just yet. Without moving his head, he kept an eye on his plate, waiting for a stealthy pair of chopsticks to inch into his view. The moment Asato’s hand crept toward his plate, reaching for the last morsel, he made his move.

“OW! Those things are sharp!” Asato yelped, as Fuyutsuki jabbed the back of his hand with his chopsticks.

“Karmic retribution for eating my food,” Fuyutsuki replied, releasing him.

“Well, you weren’t eating it and I didn’t want it to go to waste,” Asato muttered, rubbing his hand with his free one. The dents in his skin left by the tips of the chopsticks had already smoothed themselves over
