Winter Olympics 2010
Feb. 12th, 2010 08:48 pmHoping to see some figure skating, though sometimes the filler material in between events is more interesting, case in point a bit about the Olympic Torch being carried through Canada. My mom has a question for you folks north of us: do any of you know if the Torch passed through Prince Edward Island? Her grandmother on her dad's side came from PEI, so we have a special place for it in our hearts.
And my heart and prayers go out to the family of the guy on the Luge team from Georgia (the country): at least he left this world doing something that he was passionate about and that it happened at the greatest athletics event this planet hosts...

Date: 2010-02-13 05:09 am (UTC)I found this interactive map for you:

You can check out every province and territory and then every city and community within that province to see when the torch hit. It's pretty cool.
I would LOVE to see PEI. It's been my dream to go to Atlantic Canada. It's supposed to be breathtakingly beautiful country, and one of my very favorite authors of all time, the famed L.M. Montgomery of Anne of Green Gables and the Emiily of New Moon series, among other wonderful books, was from there and there are many historic sites of Anne fame.
