The past few days have been rather full, so I haven't been posting here, and my Tweets have been a bit sporadic: Thank heaven for LoudTwitter and their options for posting your Tweets to your blog. But I will try to make a run-down of what's been going on:

--THURSDAY: Shopping for necessities at Target and WalMart. I desperately need a new night shirt, so I found a nice one that's just right for spring/fall, and hopefully next autumn I can find a new flannel one. Also got bird seed for Oskar the cockatiel -- I just hope he likes it, since the only mix they had in stock has peas in it and he notoriously *hates* peas. Also got the new CD from Celtic Thunder and -- lo and behold! -- a DVD of several episodes of the old gothic soap opera "Dark Shadows", which my mother used to watch off and on. It was rather a shock to find that in amongst a bunch of other vampire movies/TV shows (and yes, next to a display of Twilight claptrap).

Also made my once-a-month trip to the Salem, NH Barnes & Noble: picked up another bargain-priced blank journal (matte black, not sure at the moment what I'll use it for), the next of Thomas Sniegoski's Remy Chandler urban fantasy/mysteries (gotta love an angel detective with a film-noir outlook; I'd love to write a crossover with the Dresden Files, but can't think of a plot right now), and also the two volumes of the manga inspired by the Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney games (one of the newcomers at [livejournal.com profile] carpe_ho_ras has brought one of the characters to the Mansion and I thought I'd familiarize myself with the gent's universe of origin). Also treated myself to an iced chai latte and a red velvet cupcake while I finished writing another Fanfic Rose (Yes, I'm still working on that challenge: I haven't abandoned it, I've just been wracking my brain trying to finish it).

--FRIDAY: Took care of the money order for the phone/Internet bill. Went into Burlington, to the B&N and the Burlington Mall. I got a start on some Easter shopping there (not that I have a whole lot left to do, since I'd gotten an early start this year). Picked up the fourth volume of "A Song of Ice and Fire" and I've now joined the ranks of millions who are waiting for the fifth to finally show up. Also got another odd volume of Trinity Blood and -- on a whim -- "The Pillow Book of Sei Shounagon", which I'm now nibbling on between bites of "The Historian", which is rather a relief when the density of the latter gets a bit intense: it's rather a light, frippy little book but it's fascinating in it's own way (she's rather fond of making these wacky little lists of things that annoy or amuse or amaze her).

--YESTERDAY/SATURDAY: Ran an errand or two, including bank stuff, going to the Dollar Tree to see what I could see (wound up buying more cherry blossom-scented bath stuff and some LOTR trading cards that were marked down), getting my hours (I'm on for Wednesday and Thursday and I'm going to ask if I can work Friday to make up for missing the one day I was on last week). One of my packages from Amazon showed up, namely Anne Bishop's 'Black Jewels Trilogy' (used), so I'm adding that to the pile of books to be read ([livejournal.com profile] carpe_ho_ras, you have given me a reading plan to last me for the rest of the year, especially given the number of doorstop fantasy novels involved...).

Also discovered that the Tazo chai latte syrup can be used to make iced chai, so I've been a happy little tea freak.

And that time of the month has descended on me, after a week of threatening to do so, thus I've been tired and crampy. Off to get some chamomile tea and to curl up with a book.

Wow, sounds like you've been a busy one! You've gotten some real finds there. My mom used to watch "Dark Shadows" but I've never seen it..I'd love to see an episode.
