I took the bus up to WalMart (Don't throw things at me: I'm on a limited income) to do a little shopping. I needed new underwear for one thing: Lo and behold -- they actually *had* Size 32 sports bras in the Ladies' Department. No more having to shop in the second for the teenyboppers, and have to put up with them squeeing. Or getting odd looks from people. Or having to see girls who were being potty trained when I was learning pre-algebra, but who have more physical assets than I do.

For another thing, I've been trying to get to the health food store a few doors down from WalMart to buy the peppermint oil I need for the henna body art kit that I've had for a year but have yet to use; apparantly, you need peppermint oil to open up your pores and make it easier for the henna to set. Now, before any Bible-thumpers among you, my readers, start spouting the quote from Leviticus, or whichever Old Testament book it is, about not making any marks on your body, this is a lot different from typical tattoos: This stuff lasts only two to four weeks. For that matter, it's a Middle Eastern artform, often done for weddings, so I don't doubt that a lot of Israelite women had it done back in Biblical times. And for that matter, there's some Christians who have made it part of their ministry to incorporate religious themes into their tattoos/bodyart; I ran across an LJ community for people who do this. I spotted a young man the other day sporting a really well-done tattoo on his forearm, of St. Michael the Archangel. Me, I'm planning something simple: a Celtic cross on my forearm. Maybe, if I feel adventurous, I'll try something more complicated, for instance, the Red King sigil (the design Keanu Reeves wore on his wrists in "Constantine").

Back to the wrong DVD: while I was at WalMart, I *finally* got the DVD of "Sky Captain and the World of Tomorrow", but when I got it home, I discovered I'd gotten the Fullscreen edition, not the Widescreen (why would they make a Fullscreen DVD of that movie is waaay beyond me...). So, I'll have to bring that back soon. Other than that, it was a great shopping trip.

Ahhh..the wonders of Wal-Mart!

I love shopping there :)
Don't worry about teenyboppers hon..Look at gorgeous women like Audrey Hepburn, Michelle Pfeiffer, and Kate Hudson, just to name a few, who have petite figure types. Petite is beautiful too!
As for tattooing, as far as i learned, there is no Catholic teaching that says you can't. It's some fundamentalist Christians that say that and some Orthodox Jews.

I put in the disclaimer about tattooing because I once had a slightly heated discussion with a friend about whether or not tattooing is forbidden, based on that line in Leviticus (The person is Catholic, but they kinda lean a little towards being more like a Protestant in some ways). If I remember correctly, I pointed out to this person that there are some rules in Leviticus that are no longer applicable or practical.
