It's just been one of *THOSE* days....

At least I got a good night's sleep last night, so I'm feeling a lot better: the throat isn't quite as sore as it was yesterday, thanks to the doses of Cold-Eeze zinc lozenges and Airborne effervescent cold remedies I've been taking religiously.
But it's been downhill since then: First, I was going to take the bus into Lowell to go to the noon Mass. Since I wasn't feeling well, I figured I'd take the 11.30 bus and get there a leetle bit late. Well... the driver hadn't done the route very often, so he kept screwing it up and having to backtrack after he'd made a wrong turn. That wound up adding another 15 minutes to the trip. Just to make sure I didn't waste a second, I managed to jockey myself to the front of the bus. Once the bus pulled into Downtown Lowell and the driver opened the door, I jumped out and hit the ground running, like a bat out of hell, heading for St. Joseph's... praying that I'd arrive in time for the Credo.
And I get there in time for Communion.
So naturally, my problem with scrupulosity got inflamed, and I wound up deciding to go to Mass with my parents, after work (translation: Three people in a row wanting paper bags inside plastic bags/pushy people asking me wierd questions when I was out overstocking/tons of damaged perishables), since I'd be getting out at six, and Mass at St. William's here in town was at seven.
And the church was as hot inside as a warm wind from Sheol. And the female cantor sounded like a clone of Ashlee Simpson (even looked like her, too). Plus, the Easter season decor at St. Will's continues to get tackier: besides the ugly fake hydrangeas and the wilted roses, there were these anNOYing burlap and felt banners dwingling down from the rafters, as well as this thing on the altar that looked like a goldfish bowl.
Just now, the computer crashed twice while I was *just* trying to check my email.
::Off to get some ice cream and console herself::
