Work proceeds as usual: Not much to talk about, but at least the teenagers are keeping it down to a dull roar, except that I honestly wanted to bite one of them for griping about the dress code. Try working at an office, babygirl... welcome to the real world.
The Houseparty seems to have had a spell of Midsummer Madness last night. The Merv was playing Puck, ie. slipping the "love-in-idleness" variant of the very special code... I think I spotted Cecie Martin getting friendly with a rather puzzled Constantine. We won't start about the odd conversation I heard pass between Flood and the Merv at three a.m. this morning...
And we seem to have a new member of the collective, another "Matrix" related one, namely, the Keymaker. He showed up yesterday, though I've had flashes of him in the past. I was reading "The Idiot's Guide to Taoism" yesterday, when it dawned on me that the Keymaker is an extremely Taoist character. He's kind of the wise man who seems like a total dunce when you first meet him... but then you get to know him better, and you realize how useful he really is. That's when I felt the little guy's quiet, slightly bemused presence in my headspace.
There's only one problem: he's deathly afraid of the Merv (obviously: the bastard kept him cooped up in that dungeon for two cycles of the Matrix, making keys) and of Flood (who captured him in the first place, and thus pulled himself up by the bootstraps into his present position), so being in the same space with those two makes the poor Keymaker very nervous to say the least. I've reassured him that there are rules in place in the Houseparty, and that no one can lay a finger on him, or else they risk getting smacked with the Hammer of Smiting Things With, but he's still gunshy. ::Hugst the Keymaker:: If anyone has any suggestions on how to help him cope, I/we'd really appreciate it.
