matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (YnM - Muraki Oriya and Ukyou)
I actually have a fic journal (which I'll unveil when I've finished archiving a bunch of older stories onto), but I imagine it must look like this journal is turning into one. Still typing up a lot of stuff that's gathering dust in notebooks and journals. Not much to report on Real Life, other than I've been shoveling snow and taking down Christmas decorations.

And so, on this cold and slushy day, enjoy a summer story featuring a younger Oriya and Muraki

Title: "Heat of the Day"
Author: [livejournal.com profile] matrixrefugee
Fandom: Yami no Matsuei, aka Descedants of Darkness
Characters: young!Muraki, young!Oriya
Pairing: Muraki/Oriya
Genre: Romance, coming of age
Rating: PG-13
Prompt: Round 3, 23: a creek @ [livejournal.com profile] story_lottery
Summary: One summer day, during a school break, Muraki makes a confession to his closest friend, which changes their relationship
Spoilers: None in particular
Warning(s): Mild slash (guys kissing)
Word Count: 1,115
Disclaimer: I do not own Yami no Matsuei, aka Descendants of Darkness, it’s characters, concepts and other indicia, which are the intellectual property of Yoko Matsushita, Hiroko Tokita, Manga Entertainment, Viz Media, Hakusensha, Central Park Media, et al.
A/N: I have long held the theory that Muraki and Oriya are lovers (or at least sex-buddies, with Oriya serving as Muraki's donor once his vampirism started to become more obvious), though I have a feeling Oriya is essentially straight, he just made an exception for his best friend...

A hot summer day during school break )
matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code ("Enniel Prussot")
Title: No Exit But The Final Exit
Author: [livejournal.com profile] matrixrefugee
Fandom: “Yami no Matsuei” (aka Descendants of Darkness)
Disclaimer: I do not own Yami no Matsuei, aka Descendants of Darkness, it’s characters, concepts and other indicia, which are the intellectual property of Yoko Matsushita, Hiroko Tokita, Manga Entertainment, Viz Media, Hakusensha, Central Park Media, et al.
Pairing/Characters: Kazutaka Muraki
Prompt: 3.25 - a cell
Words: 1,393
Rating: M for mature content (dubious consent, general weirdness)
Summary: Post Kyoto arc -- Muraki finds out who was behind the blinding white light which snatched him from the burning ruins of his laboratory…
Author’s Note: Written in part for [livejournal.com profile] carpe_ho_ras and partly because it’s my take on what happens to Muraki after Vol. 8 of the manga/the last episode of the anime

He could barely lift his eyelids.. )
matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (Tsuzuki/Hisoka)
I had a blast writing this one last night, while sitting in the coffeshop in the Salem NH Barnes & Noble.

Title: “Reading Materials”
Author: [livejournal.com profile] matrixrefugee
Fandom: “Yami no Matsuei” (aka Descendants of Darkness)
Disclaimer: I do not own Yami no Matsuei, aka Descendants of Darkness, it’s characters, concepts and other indicia, which are the intellectual property of Yoko Matsushita, Hiroko Tokita, Manga Entertainment, Viz Media, Hakusensha, Central Park Media, et al.
Pairing/Characters: Hisoka Kurosaki, Asato Tsuzuki
Prompt: 3.3 - a park bench
Words: 1,211
Rating: PG
Summary: Sometimes Tsuzuki’s willingness to share new things with Hisoka can poke his young partner’s discomfort button…
Author’s Note: Not exactly a requested fic, but I was lovingly prodded to write this by the lovely folks in the [livejournal.com profile] carpe_ho_ras RPG chat room one night, thanks in no small part to Tsuzuki’s lovable awkwardness about… certain aspects of human nature (and his own in-character admissions to reading really raunchy romance novels…). I’d gotten myself hooorribly stuck trying to come up with something to break a moment of writer’s block when I was trying to come up with something based on this prompt, but everything fell into place…

What is this stuff supposed to be? Porn? )
matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (Yami no Matsuei/Descendants of Darkness)
I have to admit, this is one of my favorite fics that I've recently put together, and I'm glad I used the Write or Die widget to give myself the incentive to type it.

Title: “What Price Beauty?”
Author: [livejournal.com profile] matrixrefugee
Fandom: Crossover: “Yami no Matsuei” (aka Descendants of Darkness)/”Kushiel’s Legacy”
I do not own "Kushiel's Legacy”, its characters, settings, concepts or other indicia, which are the property of Jacqueline Carey, Grand Central Publishing, et al
Pairing/Characters: The Steward, the Trader, possible analogues of two main male characters
Prompt: 3. 16 - a souk
Words: 1,066
Rating: PG-13 (thematic elements, including slave trading and sensual content, also brief language)
Summary: In an alternate version of the Book World, the Steward purchases the freedom of a pair of young men from a faraway land…
Author’s Note: The idea for this fic came about from a conversation among the [livejournal.com profile] carpe_ho_ras crowd about sorting one’s RP characters. I offered the Houses of the Court of Night Blooming Flowers as a possibility. Since I’m RP’ing both Tsuzuki and Muraki (and more or less managed to keep them apart for a month now), I couldn’t resist sorting these two gents from the Far East, which got me to thinking of writing a crackfic… and then I ran across the series of crossovers written by [livejournal.com profile] lynndyre. Though the plot and execution are all my own, I’ll admit, I borrowed the idea of setting all this in an alternate version of the book-verse of Vol 5 of the manga from them (and I think the book-verse arc has to be my favorite, after the Kyoto arc): It would not surprise me if Hakushaku has a Jacqueline Carey-esque model of the self-writing novel (I’ve even joked that he’s responsible for some of the very strange YnM fics I’ve run across).

'Whence come these youths?' the Steward asked the Trader..  )

I really need to stop grabbing these, though it's only six prompts and it's any fandom you choose:
