matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (Dean Winchester)

Whoa... I didn't get the name of the writer for this episode, but whoever they are, they're certainly a sight better than some of the writers that have worked on the show. The first, what, six episodes were passable to good, but they've really hit their stride now!

I was a little concerned that they'd make the faith-healer guy off to be the hypocrite/bad guy of the week, but I was relieved that they didn't. Faith-healers are something I'm ambivalent about: there's probably a lot of people who have the charism, and I'm a firm believer in the "laying on of hands", but I think it's a charism that's probably very easy to abuse.

Great Spook of the Week, and great way they tied it all together. And I loved Dean's line to Layla "the Girl of the Week" (When are these guys gonna help save, say, an older married couple, or a woman over 35?): "You have real faith when the miracles *don't* happen." So true... so very true...

And listen up, fanbrats: the minute-long recap of the pilot episode led off this one. Sam and Dean. Still. Do. Not. Have. A. Sister. (Yes, I'm gonna repeat some variation of this message with every revie I post about "Supernatural". Fitting, non? ;8^D )

Yeah, this episode WAS pretty nifty. I liked the inclusion of Don't Fear the Reaper.

I couldn't help but make an offhand comment about cowbell around then. ;)

Whoever picks the music for "Supernatural" is really using their head. They pick the best stuff.
