Fangurl dust-ups

::Sigh...:: As if I didn't have enough on my mind, I have to have fangurl kiddies breathing firesoda bubbles down my neck.
Read this first: http://www.livejournal.com/users/matrixrefugee/121947.html?thread=113499#t113499
Now read this: http://www.livejournal.com/users/ladynyks/218076.html I'm lucky to have friends like Nyks.
I discovered this email when I first started reading my messages. This from the straight-to-the point Ruby:
Some bitch left you a negative comment on your LJ regarding a fic of hers you sporked on GAFF; my response to her is as follows.
"I read with great interest the negative comment you left on the
Livejournal of a friend of mine. I especially enjoyed the part where you state: "I guess that a practising Catholic just cannot stand another 24-year-old Catholic model and Graphic Designer with looks and brains and attitude - and success, I might add." Well, what a lovely holier than thou attitude you have, my dear! Doesn't that condescending attitude go against your supposedly Christian nature? And I'm so glad that you have your looks, brains and attitude, which apparently can't be put to any good use besides
leaving insulting comments on a personal Livejournal. GAFF, which I am familiar with, is a public forum. So was your story that was was 'sporked'. They have every right to read your story and disagree with it as you have the right to write it.
And, they are not doing it "behind your back" if that is the argument
that is presented. GAFF, as I stated before, is a public forum. You can simply Google it and read anything and everything that has ever been posted, free of charge. You can't possibly think that people in "real life" dont speak about things you have done without you being present-- the forums are the same.
I did not post on the thread. I am a lay member of GAFF, but have not read your story as I am not a "Matrix" fan. I am also not an administrator, moderator, or anything else for that website. I speak on a purely objective standpoint in regards to your personal attitude, which seems to have much room for improvement. Apparently you, a young and sucessful girl, have nothing better to do than click on every GAFF member's personal bio, find their Livejournal, and personally flame them. What a wonderful way to constructively spend your time!
You may write back if you feel the need to rebutt, but please don't waste my time or yours by telling me how wonderfully gifted, sucessful, and beautiful you are. I frankly couldn't care less.
Yours,
R.T.F. O'Neil"
I hope you don't think I'm going out of bounds, but she pissed me off with that holier than thou attitude. If she was a real Catholic she would have turned the other cheek.

Thanks a million, Ruby.
And the leech also attacked Laurie, on her LJ, for the same reason. See here: http://www.livejournal.com/users/crowdog66/122646.html?thread=303638#t303638 . Grrr... If she's that successful, why does she have the time to pick on a grocery store clerk like me?! It's the working stiffs like myself that keep this world going. She's a model. So what? In ten years when she hits thirty-five, she's gonna be lucky if she can keep that job, once her metabolism starts to slow up and she starts gaining weight. I'd like to see her try to wrassle a thirty-pound bag of dog food, or push a fully-loaded shopping cart in bad weather.
Let me write a reply to her comment, which was much more scathing than my snarking at her fic:
I just wanted you to know that me and my friends had a great laugh about those topics - and especially about your passion about wasting your time on such a childish negativity.
This is childish negativity: UR FIC IZ TEH SUXX0RZ!!!!!!1111 GO @ HEL U BIATCH!!!!!1111
This is one of the things I said about her fic: "Quote [From the fic, gives you a taste of what I'm dealing with here]:
No. I can't do this, he thought. I can't kill her. Not after what I've learned from her. She changed me...
He's just a computer program. He's not real. This is not real, she thought, looking at him. He's just a program.... She looked at him. Oh God I can't do this...
Agent Smith, a sentient program, designed to search and destroy, was experiencing a new wave of emotions. He felt sadness. And frustration. He was frustrated by the fact that he was a sentient and she was a human. And by the fact that he couldn't bring himself to destroy that girl. "
I wrote: "Bzuh? Smith *HATES* humans, if he could be said to hate at all. One little Mary Sue isn't gonna make much difference. In fact, if there's one "Matrix" character who's likely to bump off Mary Sues, it's Smith."
Geez you people have nothing better to do that flaming a young and successful girl. I guess that a practising Catholic just cannot stand another 24-year-old Catholic model and Graphic Designer with looks and brains and attitude - and success, I might add.
I wasn't flaming you. I didn't post any reviews, and certainly not of the "DIE U MOTHERFUCKING COMMUNIST" variety that I've gotten recently. If you're Catholic, your attitude does *not* seem like the attitude of a faithful Catholic. And if you're so successful, why are you so uptight about my comments? It's like someone going after the guys who created MTS3K for snarking at their movie. Why should the remarks of a grocery store clerk bother you so much? Are you that insecure about it?
God forgive all your sins.
Amen.
Since when is it a sin to not like someone's story/movie/book/etc. and admit it in a public forum? Have you never read movie reviews? I've seen some that were a lot more scathing than my remarks. I was merely pointing out where the logic in that story didn't square with the logic of the movie it was inspired by.
I hope He forgives my sins, but you aren't the one to judge which of my actions are sins and which aren't. Turn the other goddamned cheek while you're at it, willya?

*huggles MR* Glad you got the chance to get that out. It amused me.

Date: 2005-08-05 08:19 pm (UTC)To use a really childish way of putting it, never ultimately count on me to have your back in a fight. I'm too self-preservational and too much of a Slytherin (the childish bit) to do it if it brings too much heat my way. You may have noticed it was friends locked, that post, and I suddenly went to the trouble of locking half my other recent posts for both possible trouble caused by this and another bigger reason elsewhere, a reason more likely to come back at me. It's just me. If it doesn't touch me personally, like this partially did for all the previous crap she's pulled, I'll steer clear of things as conflict shy. I was independently there for bullied friends, sure, but I was not the kind of person to dictate law and order to bullies. Not my place, if you follow me at all.
I understand there's a good ridiculing of her going on already elsewhere though. Enjoy.
