matrixrefugee: the word 'refugee' in electric green with a background of green matrix code (Merv_Love)
I was on my way to work, running between the raindrops, when I almost slipped on something on the pavement of the parking lot...

Looking down, I found it was a slice of cake. Chocolate, no less. I'm not making that up: the Merv's hostess (what *do* you call yourself, in regard to your soulbond?) tripped on a slice of chocolate cake.

Later on, as I was finishing up an order, this orange-red light shining through the front windows caught my attention. I looked up, wondering what it could be: my first guess was a spotlight on a truck or something, and then for some wierd reason, I wondered if it could be a light on a UFO...

It was the sun, shining through the clouds, just before it set. I mean, the clouds around it were black, so it stood out brilliantly.

And then, as if it couldn't get wierder, the Beatles' "Here Comes the Sun" comes on the canned music. Life imitates art imitates life, indeed!

To everyone I was IM'ing last night, and wondered why I suddenly disappeared: I wasn't having computer troubles, though at first that's what I thought it was (since it's been especially pissy lately, probably since it knows its days with me are numbered...). Nope! It was a rolling black out that hit the area, due to the high winds that have roared in. The power came on this morning, thank goodness (which is obviously why I'm able to type this now).

Adds to the list of computer gadgets I need: One uninterruptable power source (one of those boxes that you plug the comp into and then into the wall socket, so that you get enough time to save your work and shut down the machine).

Is it me or the computer? I keep getting clobbered by Miniclip.com's stupid, hopelessly cheap games, and it's making me nervous. I know my hand-eye coordination ain't that great, and I was hoping this would help, but it only seems to be making it worse. And it doesn't seem to be doing anything for my depression either. And now it's making me wonder if I'll be any good at the MxO.

::Shuddering at the prospects...wishes she were a normal person with normal hand/eye coordination...::
