Shocking sight at the library here in town

There was a copy of the Damned Book. On. The. Shelf. I regularly trawl the adult fiction section and not *ONCE* until now have I seen a copy of the Damn Book actually, physically On. The. Shelf. You usually had to put in a request for it if you wanted to take it out, or there was that one time that it was on the "Library Staff Picks" shelf, which is when I took it out.

I guess that's because we sold all the copies of the paperback edition at the store where I work. People got sick of the waiting list game and bought it. I'm of a mind to buy a used copy off Amazon.com and jot little comments (explanatory, ie. "This is wrong and this is why..." or just plain snarky) in the margins. G.K. Chesterton did this with somebook or other and Ignatius Press recently published that book, witty comments and all.

I'm still trying to figure out how the hell the fervour is still going on after two, three years. I bought a tarot deck today (because I'm playing a character who has a rather unorthodox tarot method and the internet can only help so much) and saw, of all things, a DaVinci tarot.

This is getting way out of hand.

There's been a Leonardo Da Vinci craze for a long time. I can remember about ten years ago, someone published a really good self-help boook (one of the few really good self-help books) called "How to Think Like Leonardo Da Vinci", which unwittingly got people crazy over Leonardo Da Vinci. I think the craze might have died down a bit, but Dan Brown seems to have fanned the flames. What I wonder is what the hell would Leonardo himself think about all this madness.

Yeah, Lu needs to talk with Ninel desperately: he's trying not to crush on Flood's brother Strom, since we found out Strom is gay (but he has no more interest in Lu than Flood does).

Tell him firmly that you need your time with me, and that I -- a 28 year old adult -- am appalled by the way he treats you and by his inability to share a computer with you, his sister. There are times when I have wanted to try finding your phone number so that I could contact him and give him a piece of my mind about this. If he were my kid, I would not tolerate this kind of behavior. At all.

You know, I never was too into ol' Leo, mainly because my first introduction to the Old Masters was through the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (heros in the half-shell--- TURTLE POWER!!...uh, sorry...) and I was a Raphael fangurl.
And, to be perfectly honest, I don't like his paintings very much. They're all so...yellow. I don't know, they just look ugly to me.
