I know I begged you folks to not leave LJ because it left me feeling abandoned, but now that I hear the Marxists in charge of this dump are going to weigh the site down with what amounts to spyware, and since I had a computer destroyed by the stuff, I'm not taking any chances. I'll take part in the protest being staged on Friday, but if it doesn't get the results we need, that is the end of the line for me. I have a great, stable machine in my present comp -- it might be a PC, but it has the heart of a Mac -- and I am not taking any chances with it. I might just unplug entirely and just keep a paper journal from now on, if it comes to that. Maybe I'll photocopy pages from it and stick it in public places guerrilla-art style, just to remind the human race that I exist...

EDITED TO ADD: I recently created my own "death note"-notebook as a stress reliever in dealing with horrible people. I'm making liberal use of it as of now...

Hee, all you have to do is *NOT* post anything to LJ on Friday, March 21st, for one day, starting at midnight GMT (about 6 pm EST for me). No comments. No entries. No new userpics. Nothing. Best way to show them what really makes LJ what it is.

Ha ha! Brilliant! I love the way your mind works my friend. As for LJ, noli nothis permittere te terere. I've got anti-spyware software and I'm not afraid to use it. And don't worry, I won't forget that you exist. For starters you're pretty much the only person I know who's as 'out of synch' as I am *grin*. Hmm, why don't you come over to the Neil Gaiman message boards? The natives are friendly and there's no spyware.

They're putting this thing called "Beacon" on the site that scans your interests as well as your posts -- even the private ones -- to make sure you don't post any hot-button stuff. And as long as you're logged onto the site on that browser, the stuff scans your History to make sure you don't log onto any hot-button sites.
