Short notice but: LJ protest

matrixrefugeeAs of tonight, 6 pm EST (Midnight GMT, I will *NOT* be posting anything to this journal for twenty-four hours -- not a post, not a voice post, not a comment -- in protest against the recent changes in LJ policy, including:
--Disallowing new Basic (free, ad-free) accounts
--Censoring certain hot-button-topic interests
--Creating the lovely "Beacon" spyware that scans your interests and your posts to see that there isn't any hot-button stuff in them as well as following you around the 'Net to make sure you don't log onto any hot-button sites.
The last one is the deal-breaker for me.
I hope to God this gets us the results we need. Join me, folks: we have to show the wonks running this site what *really* makes this site a success.
