Although I feel like it.

Mind you, I have no issue with winter. I love the snow, I love looking at it, I love playing in it, I really don't mind walking in it. What I *DO* mind, is my town taking a lackadaisical attitude toward clearing the sidewalks. I don't drive, I can't drive due to my Asperger's Syndrome, so walking is my primary mode of transportation. I need clear sidewalks in order to get to and from work in a timely manner. I had a bad day at work, thus heading home to find the sidewalks on my street were still unplowed finished me off. I had one of my meltdowns, and I haven't had one in weeks. Granted, it happened at home and my mother was there to hold me and keep me from thrashing around too badly, but still. She has a severe depression problem, and I hate adding to her burdens.

Consequently, my nerves are shot to bits, I feel like crap and I can't enjoy things like lighting my menorah and helping my dad bring in our Christmas tree.

I just want to live my life like other people. I just want to go to my job and work and earn my pay. But I cannot do that unless people around me help make life a little easier because of the restrictions this condition puts on my ability to accomplish the things I am trying to do.

If I wasn't Catholic, I think I'd be trying out some kind of sympathetic magic to nudge the lazy Department of Public Works workers into going out and plowing the damn sidewalks. But I'm a firm believer in the Rule of Three, so even then, it'd be out of the question.

I might just stay home from work and call it a mental health day. Since I will be calling the DPW and *HAUNTING* them until they plow the expletive-deleted sidewalks.

But, more pleasant things: I found a nifty little fandom community called [livejournal.com profile] fandom_stocking that I'm giving a shot at. I might make some folks some fannish presents to stuff in theirs, if I can get the emotional energy to do that. Here's mine:

And, oh yes, draggies:

Adopt one today! || Adopt one today! || Adopt one today! || Adopt one today!

Urgh, meltdowns. I haven't had one since secondary school and I put a lot of effort into keeping things that way. I have had a few close calls though. *grimaces*

As for getting the streets cleared and gritted, try hinting that if they don't get on with it then it'll only be a matter of time before someone has an accident and sues them for it. Since you're in America, it'd probably be the truth, hell it's the truth over here although those that do so generally get ripped about it.
